About the position

The Sales Manager at Doubletree by Hilton Orlando East UCF is responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing current hotel accounts, particularly focusing on Government and Association Groups. This role involves a profitable and win-win selling approach, ensuring that the hotel maximizes its room and related revenue through effective solicitation and sales strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and executes strategic sales plans to identify, attract and retain appropriate business to hotel
  • Conducts outside sales solicitation activities to grow Association and Government accounts and related revenue
  • Engages in overnight travel for business-related activities as needed
  • Achieves monthly and quarterly sales goals
  • Utilizes computer, software, and technology proficiently
  • Responds skillfully to incoming leads and maximizes conversion from all sources
  • Analyzes and manages business opportunities to achieve the highest profit margins for the department and hotel
  • Creatively sells available hotel space to maximize revenue
  • Negotiates and finalizes contracts within approved guidelines
  • Provides accurate forecasts to operational departments to ensure proper staffing
  • Establishes on-site customer contact as needed and introduces customers to the service staff
  • Ensures proper usage and that all required information is entered into sales software including all significant client communication
  • Conducts oneself at all times in a professional business manner, representing the hotel and the sales team enthusiastically
  • Volunteers and assists other sales members as needed to ensure departmental goals are met
  • Ensures Business Plan and related action plans are executed as established
  • May be required to occasionally work flexible hours and weekends
  • Admin responsibilities may include obtaining rooming lists, catering selection and set-up details from clients, tracing files to ensure correct payment, and communicating with appropriate departments regarding set-up changes and final counts.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED minimum; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two years of experience in hotel sales, preferably in the Association or Government markets
  • Ability to effectively utilize a variety of computer programs, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, property management system, sales software, timekeeping system
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written; must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Advanced knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, writing and executing action plans, and hotel operations
  • Ability to set priorities, plan, and organize

  • Hotel Sales Experience of at least 2 years preferred
  • Hilton Experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Hilton OnQ or PEP a plus
  • Experience at a similar size and quality hotel
