About the position

As a Sales Manager at Veritiv, you will lead the development and execution of profitable sales strategies within a designated region. This role involves managing a team of sales professionals, fostering corporate initiatives, maintaining supplier relationships, and expanding the customer base. The position requires a proactive approach to the sales process, emphasizing intelligence gathering, prospecting, negotiation, and account management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct sales meetings, trainings, and account/pipeline reviews regularly with the sales group.
  • Create a personal network and represent the organization at business sector events to enhance the company brand.
  • Implement sales and marketing strategies to the team to achieve Territory and Regional objectives.
  • Set performance objectives for team members and hold them accountable for achieving these.
  • Develop a team of high performers who grow business through new account acquisition and expanding share of wallet.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of related supervisory/management experience required.
  • Experience managing a team of 5-10 direct reports.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Experience in territory sales or account management preferred.
  • Strong understanding of distribution management from a large, national, or decentralized organization preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM systems preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience and knowledge in Facility Solutions or similar industry is preferred.
