About the position

Summit Fire & Security, a subsidiary of SFP Holding, Inc., is a full-service provider for fire detection, suppression, and security. We are looking for a Sales Representative to contribute to the growth of the organization through sales of new business in construction and services. This position involves acquiring sales leads, providing both outside and inside sales, and soliciting various building and construction types. The Sales Representative will lead the sales process from initial contact to contract acquisition, generate and follow up on proposals, and maintain relationships with customers. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with project managers, accounting personnel, and marketing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire sales leads for new work including installations for fire alarm and detection, low voltage, clean agents, security, and other lines of services.
  • Provide outside sales and inside sales.
  • Solicit all building and construction types: new construction, renovations, additions, retrofits, and similar.
  • Lead the sales process from initial contact/bid invite to acquisition of contract/Notice to Proceed.
  • Generate new relationships and foster existing relationships among Customer base for continued sales.
  • Generate new proposals, follow-up on active proposals, and close sales on active proposals.
  • Communicate status of active proposals to Management.
  • Attend internal and external meetings as required.
  • Function as a face of the Company amongst our Customer base and industry.
  • Assist Project Managers and Design Department with communication and coordination.
  • Assist Accounting personnel with job set-up and monitoring of profitability.
  • Utilize accounting software for tracking costs and billing.
  • Assist with general marketing activities and promotion of the Company.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years relevant work experience in business development or Fire Life Safety sales experience preferred.
  • 2 years operating a computer, Microsoft Office required.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's in Business or related field preferred.
