About the position

The Sanitarian position at Foster Farms involves ensuring the cleanliness and sanitization of plant packaging and processing machines, as well as work areas, in compliance with USDA regulations and GMP standards. The role is crucial for maintaining the efficient flow of products through the production process and requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Complete operational and pre-operational cleaning and sanitization of the plant according to USDA regulations.
• Check the work schedule and receive cleaning assignments.
• Obtain necessary supplies and prepare for operations by donning required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
• Prepare machinery for cleaning by removing materials and disassembling parts as needed.
• Use compressed air tools to blow down production equipment and machinery.
• Scrape and shovel excess materials into proper containers and soak parts as necessary.
• Apply appropriate cleaning and sanitizing solutions, scrub surfaces, and rinse machinery using high-pressure hoses.
• Perform general housekeeping duties and complete required paperwork at the end of the shift.

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.
• Ability to use or learn to use the equipment and tools necessary for the job.
• Must be able to perform all job functions safely and meet company standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and work scheduled/assigned times, including required overtime.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
