About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Sanitation Manager with over 10 years of experience to join our team at our food manufacturing facility located at 4652 East Date Avenue, Fresno, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards across various facilities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal sanitation regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to implementing cleaning protocols, managing sanitation teams, and conducting regular inspections and audits to uphold high standards of hygiene and safety. The Sanitation Manager will oversee the implementation of cleaning procedures, focusing on the effective elimination of bacterial loads and maintaining aesthetic conditions of equipment and the plant. This includes preparing and maintaining necessary documentation related to sanitation practices, as well as developing and enforcing sanitation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards. The role also involves training and supervising sanitation staff, collaborating with other departments to address sanitation-related issues, and maintaining accurate records of sanitation activities, inspections, and compliance. In addition, the Sanitation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the cleaning and sanitization of all equipment, machinery, production areas, and facilities to prevent cross-contamination. This includes managing the storage, handling, and use of cleaning chemicals and sanitizers in accordance with safety protocols and regulatory guidelines. The successful candidate will conduct routine inspections and monitoring of sanitation practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including FDA Food Code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the implementation of cleaning procedures to maintain hygiene and sanitation.
  • Supervising sanitation supervisors and crews to ensure compliance with sanitation standard operating procedures.
  • Ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal sanitation regulations.
  • Focusing on the effective elimination of bacterial load and aesthetic conditions of equipment and plant.
  • Preparing and maintaining necessary documentation related to sanitation practices.
  • Overseeing and managing all sanitation and cleanliness activities within the food manufacturing facility.
  • Developing and enforcing sanitation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
  • Conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure that sanitation practices are being followed.
  • Training and supervising sanitation staff to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Collaborating with other departments to address and resolve any sanitation-related issues.
  • Maintaining accurate records of sanitation activities, inspections, and compliance.
  • Following safety protocols and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Assisting with periodic facility inspections and audits conducted by internal and external regulatory agencies.
  • Overseeing the cleaning and sanitization of all equipment, machinery, production areas, and facilities to prevent cross-contamination.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in sanitation management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
  • Experience in supervising sanitation teams and managing cleaning protocols.
  • Ability to conduct inspections and audits effectively.
  • Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
  • Experience in food manufacturing environments is a plus.
