About the position
The position at Boar's Head Provisions Co., Inc. is focused on maintaining the sanitary specifications of the equipment and facility. The employee will be responsible for ensuring that all cleaning tasks are performed to meet the company's standards for cleanliness and hygiene. This role requires a commitment to following established procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment. The employee will regularly engage in detailed cleaning of the facility, which includes common areas such as break rooms and bathrooms, as well as post-operation cleaning tasks. The ability to work as part of a team is essential, as the employee will collaborate with others in the Sanitation and Production departments to achieve cleanliness goals. In addition to cleaning duties, the employee must understand the proper use of cleaning chemicals and procedures to work efficiently and effectively. Flexibility is key, as job assignments and working conditions may vary. The employee will be expected to adhere to plant rules and regulations, particularly those related to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and clean equipment criteria. This position is physically demanding, requiring the employee to walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and lift heavy objects, while also being exposed to cold and wet conditions. Safety is a priority, and the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed cleaning of the facility as assigned by the Department Supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas including break rooms and bathrooms.
- Conduct post-operation cleaning of the facility.
- Complete detailed cleaning assignments as needed.
- Ensure sanitary specifications of the equipment and facility are met.
- Understand and properly use cleaning chemicals and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other employees in the Sanitation and Production departments.
- Follow plant rules and working conditions related to GMPs and clean equipment criteria.
Requirements
- No prior experience or training required.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
