About the position

The Site Director for the Saturday Academy at Horizons Greater Washington is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the program during its three six-week sessions throughout the academic year. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering communication between students, families, and schools. The Site Director will work closely with the Program Director to create a supportive and engaging environment for students, focusing on their academic and personal development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Saturday programming for students and connect with feeder schools.
  • Manage daily schedule of program and operational activities.
  • Oversee operational aspects of the program including bus coordination and supply management.
  • Communicate student-related issues with families and document conversations.
  • Coordinate campus resources related to the program.
  • Organize field trips and community events in collaboration with host schools and partners.
  • Address student disciplinary issues and write incident reports.
  • Ensure adherence to site visitor protocols and manage site supplies.
  • Approve hourly staff time sheets and communicate staff absences to Finance department.
  • Ensure compliance with local and state regulations regarding program operations.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with K-8 students strongly preferred.
  • Strong group management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRMs preferred.
  • Dynamic, flexible, culturally sensitive applicants with positive personalities required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school-aged students in a classroom setting is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of effective teaching strategies for second language learners.
