The SBA Underwriter at BayFirst National Bank plays a crucial role in supporting the SBA Credit Department by facilitating various tasks related to credit activity. The role involves verifying tax transcripts, analyzing credit reports, preparing credit memos, and reviewing business tax returns to determine loan eligibility. Responsibilities

• Verify tax transcripts to tax returns for borrowers and guarantors.
• Analyze UCC lien searches to ensure correct lien position of the Bank and terminate any UCC's of lenders whose debt will be refinanced by the Bank's loan proceeds.
• Pull and analyze credit reports and LexisNexis reports to ensure all existing debt is accounted for and address any derogatory debt items.
• Prepare credit memos for requested loans to facilitate credit decisions.
• Request waivers from appropriate authority for credit approval and document them in the credit memo.
• Review and analyze business tax returns to determine loan eligibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields (or currently pursuing a degree in those fields).
• Entry-level underwriting experience.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
