About the position

This is an adjunct faculty pool for teaching part-time in the Small Business Development Center department. The pool will remain open until June 2025 unless positions are no longer needed. Applications will be reviewed and candidates will be contacted and interviewed as positions become available. The instructor is required to work with an existing syllabus or create a course syllabus, instruct students in the subject matter in accordance with that syllabus, maintain attendance records, assess student progress and evaluate course work. The instructor will maintain college standards in all aspects of professionalism, record keeping and instruction within the team atmosphere of the Small Business Development Center of Rogue Community College.

Responsibilities

  • Provides hands-on QuickBooks instruction to students in a computer lab or facilitates course instruction via zoom, as agreed upon by the parties.
  • Prepares, distributes, and utilizes instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media, and other devices as appropriate.
  • At the end of each module, distributes and returns to the RCC SBDC a student course evaluation of the class.
  • Maintain attendance records and shares attendance with the RCC SBDC for tracking purposes.
  • Participates in curriculum planning and development as needed.
  • Represents the RCC Small Business Development Center and the college to the community, business, public agencies, and other organizations in a professional manner.
  • Responsible for departmental equipment and provides for the security of facilities and instructional materials as appropriate to the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Instructor should be QuickBooks certified.
  • Only degrees received from an accredited institution will be accepted; accreditation must be recognized by the office of degree authorization, US Department of Education.
  • Instructor must be knowledgeable in the subject matter and have sufficient expertise to adequately train the students.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred, but not necessarily mandatory.

  • Knowledge of tools for communication and learning, including multi-media presentations.
  • Experience or potential for innovation and creativity in both the classroom and related educational duties.
