About the position

As a Seafood Preparer at FoodNet Supermarket Inc, you will play a vital role in our seafood department, working with a variety of live, fresh, and frozen seafood products. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with customers, providing them with high-quality service and sharing your passion for seafood. This position requires a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety in food preparation, ensuring that all products meet our company's policies and health regulations. You will be expected to create a welcoming environment for customers, helping them with their seafood selections and providing information about our offerings. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing seafood products using various tools, including knives, while minimizing waste. You will also be tasked with cleaning and sanitizing your work area and equipment in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Your duties will include weighing, packaging, and labeling seafood items for display, as well as promoting sales within the department. You will need to inspect products for expiration dates and follow markdown policies to ensure that our displays are fresh and appealing. Additionally, you will take special orders from customers and provide custom cuts as requested. To succeed in this position, you must adhere to our uniform and grooming policies and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. This is a full-time position that may require working overtime, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of our customers. Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality customer service in accordance with the company's standards and policies.
  • Comply with established Weight and Measures, health and sanitation, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Use knives and other tools to prepare seafood products, minimizing waste.
  • Clean and sanitize all equipment and work areas according to regulations and company policy.
  • Weigh, package, and label seafood items for display.
  • Promote sales within the seafood department.
  • Inspect displayed products for expired dates and remove them when necessary.
  • Follow the established division markdown policy.
  • Take special orders from customers and provide special cuts as requested.
  • Maintain the work area in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Seafood experience preferred but not required (0-1 years).
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred but not required.
