About the position

The Bank Protection Officer (BPO) at Allied Universal is responsible for maintaining a visible security presence at retail banking centers to deter criminal activity and ensure the safety of customers and staff. This part-time position involves performing security patrols, monitoring entrances and exits, and interacting courteously with the public. The role requires effective communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to handle potential conflicts professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
  • Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
  • Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits
  • Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
  • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post
  • Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
  • Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
  • Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Current driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
  • Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of previous security, safety, and/or protective experience such as law enforcement, military service with a favorable discharge, or Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
  • Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public

Nice-to-haves
