About The Position

The Part Time Event Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patrons, employees, and assets at ASM Global Oakland. This role involves responding to emergencies, managing crowds, and enforcing building policies while providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 0-1 years of related work experience.
• Valid California Guard Card required or willingness to obtain one prior to employment.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Ability to maintain good business relations with all departments and staff.
• Ability to effectively perform in crises and work under pressure without loss of composure.
• Ability to exhibit maturity by making sound judgment.
• Ability to memorize, recollect, and quickly retrieve relevant information.
• Ability to interact effectively and calmly with angry or emotional patrons and employees during intensely aggravated circumstances.
• Ability to participate in all departmental and companywide meetings.
• Ability to maintain patron, employee, and company confidentiality.
• Understanding of written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Responds to routine and emergency calls for assistance and investigates incidents.
• Patrols the venue and parking lots.
• Searches guests and their personal belongings using walk-through metal detectors, hand wands, pat down searches, and bag checks.
• Checks credentials and tickets for access into restricted areas.
• Enforces building policies and reports violations.
• Engages in crowd management activities to ensure personal safety of guests and staff.
• Provides answers to guest questions and is knowledgeable of venue services.
• Interacts with guests, vendors, and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
