About the position

The IT Security Sr. Service Desk Analyst position is a fully remote role focused on various Identity and Access Management (IAM) functions. The primary responsibilities include managing user access provisioning, deprovisioning, and modification, as well as conducting periodic user access reviews to ensure compliance with security policies. The analyst will work closely with the security/IAM team to ensure proper access to enterprise applications and IT services while adhering to established guidelines and protocols. This role requires a strong emphasis on Active Directory management, including the creation and management of security groups, and handling user access requests related to new hires, terminations, and transfers. In this position, the analyst will be responsible for working through tickets for new hire requests, setting up Active Directory with appropriate security group memberships and access levels. The role also involves training on proprietary systems used for access management processes, ensuring that the analyst can effectively manage user accounts and access across various platforms. A proactive mentality and strong analytical skills are essential, as the analyst will need to quickly identify and resolve obstacles while maintaining effective communication with various stakeholders. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST, and while the position is remote, candidates must be available to work during these hours. The company provides all necessary equipment for the role, ensuring that the analyst can perform their duties effectively from any location within the country.

Responsibilities

  • Perform user access provisioning, deprovisioning, and modification in Active Directory.
  • Conduct periodic user access reviews to ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Manage security groups and assign users to groups in Active Directory.
  • Handle new hire requests, including setting up Active Directory with security group membership and access levels.
  • Assist with terminations and access transfers as needed.
  • Work closely with the security/IAM team to ensure proper access to enterprise applications and IT services.
  • Act as an escalation point for user access issues not resolved by the Service Desk.
  • Complete assigned tasks, including generating and reviewing reports, logs, and alerts.
  • Participate in the team rotation of weekly 24x7 on-call duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in Identity and Access Management, IT Audit/Compliance, or Information Security.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory Management, including user accounts and security groups.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Exchange, including mailboxes and distribution lists.
  • Familiarity with Access Control models, particularly Role Based Access Controls (RBAC).
  • Experience with ITSM systems such as Ivanti Service Manager, ServiceNow, or Remedy.
  • Ability to administer user accounts and access for Identity Lifecycle Management.
  • Experience managing user access across multiple platforms and identity stores.
  • Conduct basic analysis of user accounts and access requests for compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate security controls and standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates Degree or higher in Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
  • Working knowledge of IAM tools/systems such as SailPoint, CyberArk, ADUC, Azure AD, Microsoft 365 Admin Center, and PowerShell.
