About the position

The Senior Analyst - Global Financial Crimes at Bank of America is responsible for executing compliance and operational risk practices related to money laundering, economic sanctions, and fraud. This role involves working closely with compliance officers and senior executives to assess financial crimes risks, provide recommendations for risk mitigation, and support the development of junior analysts. The position requires a deep understanding of financial crimes and the ability to communicate complex information effectively to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Execute substantive money laundering, economic sanctions, and fraud compliance practices.
  • Work with compliance officers for Front Line Units and Control Functions to meet compliance and operational risk management requirements.
  • Assemble relevant information and perform deeper assessments of financial crimes.
  • Communicate findings and risk mitigation recommendations to stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Identify and summarize risks associated with high-profile matters.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and external partners to identify potential risks and ensure reporting.
  • Navigate bank data warehouses to source data for analysis.
  • Influence senior leaders on mitigation techniques using data-driven solutions.
  • Assist in the growth and development of junior analysts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in risk management, financial crimes investigations, anti-money laundering (AML), Fraud, and/or Economic Sanctions regulations.
  • Data analytics experience, including writing/editing SQL and/or strong Excel (macros), or Python or similar technical experience.
  • Experience translating complex information into automated, impactful, actionable risk analytics.
  • Experience communicating reports in an executive-ready manner.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) and related AML legislation.
  • Prior law enforcement experience working financial crimes.
  • Strong business acumen preferred.
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification preferred.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification preferred.
