The Senior Application Programmer Analyst plays a crucial role in the programming function, particularly for projects that require complex and challenging programming tasks. This position operates under general direction and is responsible for collaborating with users to clarify and modify system requirements effectively. A significant part of the role involves supporting and maintaining the current Real Estate Tax Software System, which was developed by the ICT Department on the IBM iSeries platform. Additionally, the analyst will support and maintain other programs developed on the IBM iSeries that are essential for County operations. In this role, the analyst will analyze, design, develop, and implement software programs and applications specifically on the IBM iSeries Platform. This will involve utilizing a comprehensive suite of iSeries languages and tools, including COBOL/400, CL/400, SQL/400, DB2/400, SDA, and STRQRY. The analyst will lead collaborative efforts with other departments to manage data interfaces into the real estate system, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. The position requires close collaboration with various departments to compute real estate taxes, create real estate tax bills, and distribute collected real estate taxes. The analyst will also work alongside other programming team members to implement technical solutions effectively. A key responsibility is to independently investigate and determine the causes of reported application issues, implementing corrective solutions as necessary. Familiarity with iSeries hardware, such as printers, print writers, and tape drives, is essential. Additionally, the analyst must be capable of documenting processes and procedures clearly. Regular, punctual, and predictable attendance is expected to maintain workflow and project timelines.
