About the position
The Senior Aviation Electrical Engineer at RS&H will play a crucial role in designing and managing electrical systems for transportation facilities, particularly in the aviation sector. This position involves leading the design and production of drawings for various airport lighting systems, developing engineering reports, and engaging in client relationship building. The role offers opportunities for professional growth and collaboration on diverse projects, including electric vehicle infrastructure and space port developments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and production of drawings for runway and taxiway lighting systems, NAVAIDs, and aviation infrastructure.
- Develop calculations, specifications, engineering reports, and construction cost estimates.
- Conduct client meetings and site visits.
- Perform construction administration tasks.
- Assist with business development and proposals.
- Train, mentor, and guide mid-level and junior engineering staff.
- Collaborate on building projects, photovoltaic developments, and electric vehicle infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in infrastructure/transportation consulting engineering, preferably in aviation.
- Proven experience leading designs of infrastructure and building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, security, fire alarm, access control, and communications.
- Proficiency with AGI32, SKM, Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of FAA standards, National Electrical Code (NEC), and industry best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
