About The Position

The Senior Azure Engineer at Fisher Investments will play a crucial role in supporting the Portfolio Management Group's modernization initiatives. This position involves mentoring a team of cloud engineers and leveraging deep technical expertise in Azure services to guide strategic cloud programs that align with the company's growth objectives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure across platform technology areas, with an emphasis on implementation and maintenance.
  • 5+ years of experience building, deploying, and managing public cloud IaaS and PaaS services.
  • Experience with configuration management and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) toolsets such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
  • Scripting and automation experience for builds, workflows, and integration tasks.
  • Experience building automated cloud infrastructure across production and non-production environments.
  • Experience in DevSecOps using GitHub, jFrog, and Octopus setup.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability software, uptime tracking, and managing highly available API services.
  • Experience tracing and troubleshooting issues in hybrid environments.
  • Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows server administration.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of Azure resources with the Cloud Platform team.
  • Design and manage scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure and automation tooling for routine operational tasks.
  • Manage cloud costs and improve resource usage for cost efficiency.
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of the Azure environment through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Investigate current-state cloud usage and recommend optimizations and remediation.
  • Mitigate broken systems and prevent future disruptions.
  • Consult on process improvements for IT policies, procedures, tools, and security controls.
  • Conduct research and proof of concept activities for new technologies and tools.
  • Collaborate with solution architects to ensure developed solutions meet standards and security controls.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in the Azure cloud environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest Azure features and share knowledge with the team.
  • Work with scrum teams on observability and monitoring needs.
  • Collaborate with Product Owner(s) to identify infrastructure needs for new features.
