About the position

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will play a crucial role in building and optimizing data solutions that support Accounting-related requirements and provide insightful analytics. This position requires a proactive individual who can collaborate effectively with various business units, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver actionable insights through data, primarily focusing on Snowflake, SQL, and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Business Intelligence partner for the Accounting Department, supporting projects and change management initiatives across key project owners.
  • Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries and Snowflake-based solutions to support business intelligence initiatives.
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex BI solutions using Snowflake and Microsoft SSAS/PowerBI Semantic Models.
  • Create and maintain reporting tools, troubleshoot improvement opportunities, and process change requests as needed.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to support data integration and transformation needs across the organization.
  • Manage Accounting tools, accounting reporting, and data analytics systems while ensuring governance, security, consistency, integrity, and accuracy of all end-user data.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to end-users, ensuring effective utilization of data tools and resources.
  • Participate in system maintenance, upgrades, and integration projects, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of experience in data analysis, with a strong focus on Snowflake, SQL, and data modeling.
  • Strong understanding of Accounting methodologies, concepts, principles, and modeling.
  • Strong proficiency in systems and methodologies for accessing and utilizing data, including Snowflake workspaces, SQL for data manipulation, ETL processes, data analytics, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in SQL, especially with Snowflake, with a demonstrated ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries.
  • Knowledge of database objects (tables, views, etc.), and experience in implementing and optimizing queries, materialized views, and strong understanding of Snowflake architecture.
  • Expertise in ETL tools such as Snowpipe, SSIS, Informatica, and Alteryx, and/or cloud services such as Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DAX and Power BI Services.
  • Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail and high standards for data quality and accuracy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, MSBA, MBA, MIS, or PhD is a plus.
  • Expertise in ETL tools such as Snowpipe, SSIS, Informatica, and Alteryx, and/or cloud services such as Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
