About the position

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst plays a crucial role within the Data Strategy & Innovation team at Princeton University, focusing on high-quality data analysis and presentation to support the Advancement office. This position requires strong analytical skills, project management capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex data effectively. The analyst will work closely with various teams to develop business intelligence solutions and ensure that data-driven insights align with the strategic goals of the office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business intelligence and analytic solutions using data visualization software and predictive modeling tools.
  • Maintain proficiency with enterprise reporting tools and transition from legacy reporting to new technology tools.
  • Conduct high-quality data analysis and prepare presentations to support analytics and strategic decision-making.
  • Utilize statistical approaches for data modeling projects to assist with strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with data warehousing team members to maintain a reliable and innovative data environment.
  • Work with business users to define outcomes and requirements for analyses and dashboards, providing end-user training as needed.
  • Coordinate and prioritize work in collaboration with the ADM team and other members of Advancement Operations.
  • Serve on internal committees and project teams, effectively managing cross-team projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in an analytical, research, or information specialist role.
  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify business challenges and prepare clear, concise reports.
  • Knowledge of tools and techniques for data collection and analysis.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to interact with diverse groups.
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and organizational skills.
  • Experience with database management and visualization tools, such as SQL, Cognos, and Tableau.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • High degree of professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Appreciation for fundraising principles.
