About the position

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst plays a crucial role within the Data Strategy & Innovation team at Princeton University. This position is responsible for conducting complex data analysis and presenting insights that support the Advancement office's strategic goals. The analyst will manage projects related to internal data analysis, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills to deliver valuable information and analytics to the office staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business intelligence and analytic solutions using data visualization software and predictive modeling tools.
  • Maintain proficiency with enterprise reporting tools and transition from legacy reporting to new technology tools as needed.
  • Conduct high-quality data analysis and prepare presentations to support analytics and strategic decision-making.
  • Utilize statistical approaches for data modeling projects to assist with strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with data warehousing team members to maintain a reliable and innovative data environment.
  • Work with business users to define outcomes and requirements for analyses and dashboards, providing end-user training as necessary.
  • Coordinate and prioritize work with the ADM team and other members of Advancement Operations to align with strategic goals.
  • Serve on internal committees and project teams, managing cross-team projects effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in an analytical, research, or information specialist role.
  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify business challenges and prepare clear, concise reports.
  • Knowledge of tools and techniques for data collection and analysis.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to interact with diverse groups.
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience with database management and visualization tools such as SQL, Cognos, and Tableau preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
