About the position

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing business and technology needs to provide actionable insights that drive decision-making across the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of data analysis and visualization, as well as the ability to communicate findings effectively to various stakeholders. The analyst will be responsible for exploring data relationships using statistical methods and visualization tools, and will actively participate in the product development process by collaborating closely with product managers. In this role, the analyst will build and maintain dashboards using Tableau, leveraging custom SQL to create meaningful visualizations that translate complex data into simple insights. The analyst will also utilize ETL tools to manage data pipelines and workflows, ensuring that data is aggregated and decorated appropriately within a data warehouse environment. Quality checks and trend reviews will be essential to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data presented. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will deliver concise analytics presentations to stakeholders in various departments, including Product Development, Marketing, Ad Ops, Finance, and Talent. This position is eligible for up to 100% remote work for candidates residing within a reasonable distance from the headquarters in New Hope, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth analysis of business and technology needs to answer key questions posed by product and management teams.
  • Proactively explore data to uncover actionable insights.
  • Provide business data insights to stakeholders across the organization to help drive business.
  • Review trends, perform quality checks, and translate findings into simple and meaningful insights.
  • Build and maintain dashboards in Tableau by writing custom SQL.
  • Use ETL tools to create aggregated and decorated objects in a data warehouse environment.
  • Analyze data and communicate findings to stakeholders in Product Development, Marketing, Ad Ops, Finance, and Talent.
  • Deliver concise and clear analytics presentations to drive the decision process at all levels of the organization.
  • Explore data relationships using statistics, visualization tools, and social graph analysis.
  • Participate in the product development process while working closely with product managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience building and maintaining dashboards in Tableau, including experience with calculated fields, parameters, actions, data blending, scheduling, and managing user/group permissions.
  • Three (3) years of experience writing custom SQL queries, including experience with window functions, complex joins, CTE's (Common Table Expression), transformations, and aggregations.
  • Three (3) years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines or workflows, including experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and job orchestration tools.
  • Three (3) years of experience working closely with data stakeholders to facilitate effective work resolution in a Business Intelligence setting, including defining business rules and reporting requirements, defining metrics and KPIs, performing data profiling for quality assurance, using version control services (GitHub), using work intake software (JIRA), and using graph drawing software (draw.io).
  • Three (3) years of experience building and giving presentations to business and data stakeholders with the goal of sharing analysis results and providing insight into customer behavior and business processes, including experience using Google Slides and Sheets, PowerPoint, and Visio.
