About the position

The Senior Clean Energy Project Monitor will support a federal government client in achieving climate and clean energy goals through the administration of federal grants. This role involves managing grant applications, providing technical and operational support, and ensuring compliance throughout the grants management lifecycle. The position is contingent upon award and requires a collaborative approach to deliver clean energy solutions across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Manage award and administration of grants for clean energy projects, including engineering, technical, and operational leadership support for active projects.
  • Work with subject matter experts to review and evaluate grants applications, and apply eligibility criteria to determine awardee eligibility.
  • Develop and apply eligibility criteria to determine awardee eligibility.
  • Develop and refine program metrics; monitor and assess awardee performance according to established performance metrics, including coordinating with applicable stakeholders and ensuring that all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
  • Perform advanced technical evaluations to identify corrective actions as needed and recommend refined project requirements.
  • Oversee close-out documentation and ensure compliance with federal requirements.
  • Write, edit, and review technical documents; deliver briefings and presentations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, environmental sciences or related discipline.
  • Nine—twelve years of experience, with leadership experience managing government financial assistance programs and individual grants; experience managing federal energy grants preferred. A master's degree in a related discipline may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytic, communication (oral and written), research, meeting support, and briefing/presentation skills; experience writing, developing, reviewing, and evaluating technical documents; and experience providing program evaluation support.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to review, quality-check, and edit the work of junior staff.
  • Able to pass a U.S. federal government background check and public trust clearance process - requires US Citizenship.
  • Experience managing energy grants and cooperative agreements is preferred including knowledge of federal energy-specific policies, functional requirements and procedures, regulatory compliance support.
