Senior Cloud Engineer

About the position

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deploy highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable infrastructure on AWS.
• Ensure proper security best practices are implemented through proper role and secret management.
• Use Terraform to automate the deployment and management of AWS infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure templates to ensure repeatable and scalable infrastructure provisioning.
• Automate the provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of AWS resources.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins for seamless application and infrastructure deployments.
• Design and manage network setup.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring using Open Telemetry, Grafana, Mimir, and Prometheus.
• Manage AWS database services like Amazon RDS, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon ElastiCache, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and cost efficiency.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize cloud resource utilization.
• Design and implement disaster recovery strategies.
• Use AWS-native tools and services to troubleshoot performance issues and optimize infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, collaborating with development and operations teams to deliver high-quality cloud solutions.

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience with core AWS services.
• Strong experience in implementing IAM roles and policies.
• Proficient in using Terraform for provisioning and managing infrastructure as code in AWS.
• Expertise in deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications using Docker.
• Strong scripting skills for automating cloud infrastructure management tasks.
• Experience with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Deep knowledge of AWS VPC, security groups, network ACLs, Elastic Load Balancer (ELB), Route 53, and AWS networking best practices.
• Experience with Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, and Amazon S3.
• Proven experience in designing disaster recovery plans, failover mechanisms, and highly available AWS architectures.
