About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join its Engineering Team, focusing on solving engineering challenges across multiple cloud environments. This role involves architecture, engineering, and deployment of USSF Cloud Initiatives aimed at enhancing performance, reducing administrative overhead, and providing a seamless user experience. The position is primarily based in Vandenberg, CA, with opportunities for hybrid work in El Segundo, CA, and Colorado Springs, CO.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Five (5)+ years of related experience in cloud computing systems integration and automation within a DevOps culture
• Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance; must be a current US Citizen
• At least three (3) years of experience implementing and supporting cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OCI)
• Demonstrated experience with Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, Jenkins, Terraform
• Experience with containerization tools such as Kubernetes or Docker
• Experience with Zero Trust, identity management, and automated security monitoring

Nice To Haves

• Active Top Secret Clearance
• Experience with automation tools including Ansible and Terraform
• Cloud or Platform 1 development, engineering, operations and sustainment
• In-depth understanding of Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, storage, Active Directory, F5, Barracuda

Responsibilities

• Provide support to on-premises, hybrid, and public cloud toolsets and best practices
• Monitor system performance and availability, ensuring high uptime
• Optimize cloud resources to balance performance and cost-effectiveness
• Work closely with developers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to integrate cloud solutions
• Propose and implement enhancements to existing cloud systems
• Configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems
