Senior Cloud Solutions Architect

About the position

COTA's Sr. Cloud Architect is responsible for designing and developing cloud-based architecture for the organization. This position will collaborate with technical and business teams to understand requirements, analyze current infrastructure and recommend solutions aligning with organizational goals through partnerships with vendors and external partners. Performs other duties in alignment with the 2019 - 2024 COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision to Move Every Life Forward.

Responsibilities

• Establishes best practices for implementing and operating cloud-based solutions in public cloud platforms like Azure and AWS
• Works with technical teams to develop cloud migration strategies and plans
• Provides guidance and support to technical teams during the implementation of cloud solutions and help troubleshoot issues during operation
• Collaborates with technical and business teams to ensure cloud-based solutions align with COTA's organizational goals
• Develops and maintains documentation including architecture diagrams, policies/procedures and training materials
• Works with vendors and partners to identify suitable cloud-based solutions
• Reviews vendor-provided architecture and designs
• Collaborates with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure teams to establish cloud infrastructure and security policies
• Identifies and addresses security risks and ensure COTA's cloud infrastructure is secure
• Monitors and optimizes cloud-based infrastructure performance and cost
• May be required to be available through a mobile device via voice/data during and outside of normal working hours at the manager's discretion, and must respond within a reasonable timeframe
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• Seven (7) years of relevant experience
• An equivalent combination of education and comparable relevant experience will also be considered
• Experience in public transit administration preferred

• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator (Associate) certification
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification
