About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Bid Manager to join our team at Siemens Mobility RS - Passenger Coaches. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and handling the commercial aspects of bid proposals, ensuring competitive and compliant submissions that align with our strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial bid process from initial inquiry to contract award, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Develop and implement bid strategies that improve the chances of winning contracts while maintaining profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, legal, and project management, to gather vital information and ensure alignment.
  • Analyze and interpret tender documents, identifying key commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare and review commercial proposals, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and internal policies.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Supervise and report on bid progress, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to Siemens Mobility’s quality standards and ethical guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in large commercial bid management, preferably within the transportation or infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading sophisticated bids and securing high-value contracts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret sophisticated data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SMO tools (LOA, EPIQ, SAP, ROCCIT, Dash).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, CIPS) is a plus.
