About the position

The Lenovo North America Communications Team is dedicated to bringing Lenovo's products and services to life through engaging content and storytelling across various platforms, including public relations, internal communications, executive communications, social media, and video production. We are seeking a communications superstar who is not only innovative but also challenges the ordinary to advance brand storytelling in North America. This role is pivotal in enhancing Lenovo's corporate reputation, showcasing its products, and positioning its executives as leaders in technology innovation. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in establishing Lenovo as the brand of choice among businesses and consumers. In this position, you will be directly responsible for leading some of our largest and most impactful PR and communications campaigns. You will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders across North America, including media, consumers, IT decision-makers, analysts, partners, Lenovo employees, investors, regulators, and policymakers. Your responsibilities will include leading public relations for major campaigns and initiatives within the North America market, supporting press events, brand storytelling, content creation, and thought leadership across various business groups. You will co-manage relationships with PR agencies to develop earned media pitch strategies and coordinate executive interviews with the press. Additionally, you will leverage existing tools to track PR performance, manage the budget for the communications team, and prepare updates for senior leadership. Your role will also involve advising key business leaders on effective media communication and ensuring consistent storytelling across geographies while localizing global stories for the North America market. You will collaborate with marketing managers to build brand awareness and develop customer-centric stories around Lenovo's products and verticals, assist in content development for key events, and regularly track performance against quarterly and annual KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead public relations for several major campaigns and initiatives within the North America market.
  • Support North America press events, brand storytelling, content creation, and thought leadership across business groups.
  • Co-manage the relationship with PR agencies to develop earned media pitch strategies and coordinate executive interviews with the press.
  • Leverage existing tools to track PR performance and develop reports measuring effectiveness of PR campaigns for senior leadership.
  • Manage budget and associated operational activities for the Communications Team.
  • Prepare and present communications updates on monthly marketing interlock calls and other status calls as needed.
  • Build brand reputation for Lenovo and its full pocket-to-cloud portfolio.
  • Advise key business leaders on effective communication with the media.
  • Align with communications colleagues to ensure consistent storytelling across geographies and localize global stories for the North America market.
  • Work with marketing managers to build brand awareness and develop customer-centric stories around products and verticals.
  • Assist in content development for annual North America Sales Kickoff and quarterly All Hands.
  • Collaborate with social media, internal communications, and community engagement colleagues to ensure consistency in storytelling.
  • Regularly track performance against quarterly and annual KPIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications, English, or media studies.
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in communications, public relations, and/or journalism.
  • Prior experience working in/with the technology industry is required.
  • Experience supporting communications for C-suite level executives/clients.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to provide writing samples.
