About the position

This position requires providing support in the deployment and implementation of regulatory changes across all Popular companies. The role requires completion of a thorough analysis of all changes to ensure they are adequately implemented, validated and escalated, as appropriate. The position also requires providing support with internal audits, as well as in the management of regulatory examinations to ensure a centralized repository of responses is maintained for all examinations and that matters of concern are adequately escalated and corrected to address any regulatory risks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in the identification, deployment, implementation and oversight of regulatory changes across all Popular companies.
  • Monitor the regulatory environment to identify regulatory changes of relevance, assess impact, develop action plans, coordinate efforts with multiple stakeholders and present at different committees.
  • Support in the management of regulatory examinations by gathering and reviewing responses, maintaining updated repositories for all examinations, and ensuring issues identified are appropriately tracked and addressed.
  • Assist in the coordination of Internal Audit reviews and closure of findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related fields, Juris Doctor (preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing projects and/or regulatory compliance experience.
  • Expertise and knowledge of banking operations and applicable regulations is preferred.
  • Licensed as attorney in at least one jurisdiction (preferred).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English.
  • Good interpersonal skills to manage relationships with business and support unit contacts.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to research, track, update, and communicate compliance concerns.
  • Ability to influence others, be process driven, and have high attention to detail.
