About the position

As a Senior Computer Vision Engineer at Methid, you will play a crucial role in shaping the AI perception technology that underpins our innovative biology automation platform. This position involves leading the application of advanced deep learning-based computer vision models to enhance life-science research and diagnostics, making them more efficient and reliable. You will collaborate closely with the founding team to architect and deploy our production AI perception system, ensuring high-quality code and fostering a culture of mentorship and technical leadership among your peers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with founder to architect our production AI perception system
• Own the computer vision pipeline and deploy models to production
• Ship quality, well-tested code on a modern technology stack
• Lead software design discussions and code reviews
• Encourage, motivate, and mentor other engineers to hone their craft

Requirements

• Proven history of designing, training, and deploying CNN computer vision models to production
• 5+ years of experience in computer vision, perception, and deep learning
• Experience with PyTorch and YOLOv7
• Experience designing and operating labeling systems
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
• Desire to grow and learn while innovating on a system that grows and learns
• Aptitude and passion for technical leadership, code and model reviews, and development of teammates

Nice-to-haves

• BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field
• Experience with C/C++
• Experience with GStreamer and DeepStream
• Experience with multi-camera object tracking, depth, and pose estimation
• Experience with scientific computing or laboratory automation
• Prior academic publication record in computer vision or related field
• Experience working in a collaborative and fast-paced Agile team environment
• Passion for biology and a startup work environment!
