The Senior Copywriter at Southern Virginia University will play a crucial role in supporting the university's strategic goals by creating impactful content across various platforms. Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, engaging content, including feature stories, press releases, marketing materials, and campaign assets, to strengthen the university's brand.
• Craft audience-focused emails and other communications that align with university initiatives and drive engagement.
• Collaborate with students, alumni, faculty, and staff to highlight achievements and stories that resonate with internal and external audiences.
• Ensure cohesive and consistent messaging across all channels—digital, print, and email—to support the university's goals and strategic priorities.
• Work closely with the marketing team to support campaigns that align with Southern Virginia University's long-term vision.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• 3-5 years of professional experience in copywriting, ideally within a communications or marketing role
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
• Experience in higher education or nonprofit communications
• Familiarity with SEO and digital marketing tools.
