About the position
The Accountant at Sensata Technologies is responsible for a variety of accounting activities, including the preparation of monthly accounting records, reporting, and analytical initiatives. This role requires collaboration across the Accounting organization to ensure compliance with financial regulations and to support the month-end and year-end close processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and enter journal entries
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Follow the company's chart of accounts
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Analyze current financial status and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
- Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
- Identify errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
- Prepare financial statements and supplemental schedules
- Develop and document business processes ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
- Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements
- Prepare special financial reports as needed
Requirements
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelor's degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing tasks
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills
