The Senior Cost Accountant will play a crucial role in the month-end close process, consolidation, and the preparation of the Company's internal and external financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP. This position requires a strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to analyze financial data effectively. The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, which is essential for decision-making within the organization. In this role, the Senior Cost Accountant will assist in various aspects of the monthly close, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and advanced account analysis. They will own the full cycle of the cost accounting process, which includes cost allocation, analysis, and tracking. Identifying and analyzing cost variances will be a key responsibility, as well as providing explanations for any discrepancies against budget expectations. The Senior Cost Accountant will also be tasked with developing efficiencies in the cost accounting workflow and enhancing monthly reporting, trend analysis, and analytics on inventory balances and other key metrics. Collaboration with various departments such as Warehouse/Receiving, Management, Corporate Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality will be essential for effective inventory valuation and processing. The Senior Cost Accountant will also be expected to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting. This position operates in a professional office environment and may require evening and weekend work as job duties demand.
