About the position

Gogo Business Aviation is seeking a Senior Data Structure Engineer to lead and manage the data center, lab, and corporate infrastructure team. This role involves overseeing Gogo's network infrastructure, including corporate offices and data centers, while ensuring efficient operations and maintenance of power, HVAC, and fiber/ethernet systems. The position requires a proactive approach to asset tracking, vendor management, and budget forecasting, making it essential for candidates to possess strong technical and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Gogo's network infrastructure including corporate offices, data centers, and offsite testing facilities.
• Responsible for Layer 1 plant including power, HVAC, and Fiber/Ethernet infrastructure.
• Asset tracking and logistics.
• Back office administration, procurement with ERP systems.
• Manage inventory and vendor relationships.
• Manage 1-2 direct reports.
• Participate in annual budget and forecasting.

Requirements

• 7-10 years working with AC/DC power systems, maintenance, and repairs.
• Ability to lift network equipment ~50lbs.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time domestically.
• Flexibility to work off hours as required.
• Experience working with and maintaining HVAC systems.
• Experience with Ethernet and fiber connectivity.
• Experience managing external vendors and contracts.
• Knowledge of telecommunication services (MPLS, Internet, DWDM, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally to meet a common goal.
• Team player with the aptitude and drive to learn new skills and technologies.
• Self-starter with ability to meet deadlines under minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified electrician preferred.
• Experience working in data center environments.
• Experience with Panduit cabling systems or equivalent.
