About the position

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Data Center Estimator to join our places infrastructure team. In this role, you will be part of our Cost Management team, involved in a wide range of construction projects from global, high-profile clients to smaller projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Your expertise in planning, estimating, budgeting, and managing costs will drive growth and smarter working practices. You will help manage the delivery of cost management in the construction sector for small, medium, and large projects, ensuring that delivery standards meet defined objectives. You will be responsible for delivering the defined scope of work in line with various controls, leveraging your expert-level technical knowledge and experience in the field. The ideal candidate must have experience in multiple fields, including Data Centers. Your role will encompass conceptual planning, early design, pre-bid, hard-bid, and negotiated contracts, which includes interpreting and quantifying plans and specifications, surveying existing site conditions, soliciting material and subcontractor bids, preparing cost estimates, and developing bid documents and proposals. You will also prepare estimating procedures and conduct overall estimating reviews and justifications, supporting the Project Controls team in decision-making processes. In addition, you will create project costings and budgets from clear objectives, managing finances across projects to ensure profit and budgetary targets are met while achieving best value outcomes. Leading and managing individual cost management assignments from inception to completion, you will oversee teams and resources to ensure delivery standards meet client expectations. Monitoring and reviewing the performance and behavior of all team members, you will educate and influence others, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and codes of conduct across the entire project team. Your role will also involve analyzing and compiling complex data and documents, using your knowledge to review and assess analysis, providing recommendations to contribute to project decision-making. You will work to improve services and drive innovation to increase team contributions to project delivery, managing relationships with customers to identify opportunities for enhancing the cost management offering and delivering customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for conceptual planning, early design, pre-bid, hard-bid and negotiated contracts.

  • Lead and manage individual cost management assignments from inception to completion, overseeing teams and resources to ensure delivery standards meet client expectations.

  • Analyze and compile complex data and documents, providing recommendations to contribute to project decision-making.
  • Support the development of current cost and commercial management systems and processes.
  • Manage relationships with customers to identify opportunities for improving the cost management offering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying).
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience in cost management and estimating.
  • Relevant professional certification (i.e., AACE, RICS or similar).
  • Experience delivering medium/large projects across an entire project life cycle.
  • Experience managing people and demonstrating leadership skills, including the ability to motivate others.
  • Experience building and managing client relationships at senior-management level.
