About the position

The Senior Data Engineer role at HelloFresh is a critical position within the Global AI department, focusing on deriving insights and building machine learning models from complex datasets. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to design and maintain scalable data products that enhance user experience. The position requires a strong background in data engineering and a commitment to mentoring junior team members while promoting best practices in data management.

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute as a solution-oriented member within autonomous, cross-functional agile teams.
• Take ownership of the end-to-end process including design, development, and monitoring of data pipelines for data ingestion, feature engineering, and reporting.
• Work with state-of-the-art technologies like PySpark, Tecton, Prefect, Kubernetes, and more.
• Demonstrate an understanding of applied ML concepts and principles.
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in data management and engineering across the team.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of HelloFresh's core product and architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Engineering Degree desired.
• 4+ years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of building large-scale data platforms.
• Strong programming skills in Python/PySpark.
• Expertise in SQL databases, data modeling, and ETL orchestration tools.
