The Senior Data Governance Engineer position at the University of Colorado is a pivotal role within the Data Governance Enablement team, focusing on the administration and maintenance of the Collibra data governance catalog product. This role is designed to enhance the understanding of data across the university, thereby improving reporting and analytics capabilities. The engineer will work closely with internal functional and technical teams, advising key partners, developing analyses and reports, and presenting upgrades, patches, and improvements to the Collibra system. The position emphasizes customer-centricity, requiring the engineer to provide ongoing support to end-users and maintain a robust data catalog architecture. The role also involves guiding customers on business intelligence standard processes, ensuring that the Collibra output meets the needs of the university community. In this position, the engineer will be responsible for configuring, validating, and implementing various functionalities of the Collibra platform, including workflows, lineage diagrams, user interfaces, dashboards, and views, in alignment with CU's technology roadmap. The engineer will collaborate with third-party consultants and internal resources to support Data Governance technology operations, ensuring that the Collibra application is effectively administered and maintained. Additionally, the role includes designing and implementing security models, conducting training sessions, and developing documentation to support the use of Collibra across the university. The engineer will also participate in strategic planning and retrospectives to manage and deliver work effectively. The position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work location, although preference will be given to candidates residing in Denver.
