As a Senior Data Governance Leader, you will play a pivotal role in partnering with Senior to Executive Leaders across various lines of business, as well as Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) Consultants and Managers. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the successful creation, implementation, and maintenance of an effective risk management framework. This includes ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, while also identifying gaps and driving solutions to minimize losses that may arise from inadequate internal processes, systems, or human errors. You will be accountable for the active identification, response, and escalation of risks as appropriate, ensuring that the organization remains proactive in its risk management efforts. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience to guide projects and activities that align with regulatory requirements and best practices. You will work closely with various stakeholders to foster a culture of compliance and risk awareness throughout the organization. Your leadership will be crucial in managing processes, projects, and people, ensuring that the team is equipped to handle the complexities of risk management in the financial services sector. The position offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, allowing for a balance between in-office and remote work, with an expectation of being in the office at least three days a week. As a Senior Data Governance Leader, you will also be responsible for mentoring and developing your team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth. Your ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, will be essential in conveying complex information to diverse audiences, while your strong analytical and problem-solving skills will enable you to navigate challenging situations with ease. This role is not just about compliance; it’s about driving strategic initiatives that enhance the organization’s overall risk posture and contribute to its long-term success.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Senior to Executive Leaders in assigned Lines of Business to oversee risk management framework.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Identify gaps in processes and drive solutions to minimize losses.
  • Accountable for the active identification, response, and escalation of risks.
  • Guide projects and activities that align with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and risk awareness throughout the organization.
  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Communicate complex information effectively to diverse audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Typically more than 15 years of applicable experience.
  • Considerable understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory trends in financial services.
  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects, and people.
  • Effective skills at managing stressful situations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Applicable professional certifications.
