Senior Data Scientist

About the position

Zocdoc is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Search team to work on our core Search product offerings such as our patient facing Provider Recommendation System. The role involves using a variety of machine learning algorithms to build and implement models, create algorithms, run simulations, and test results. The ideal candidate will be statistically-minded with coding skills to independently work on data and interpret research outcomes, collaborating closely with business partners across product, engineering, marketing, and sales to implement data-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the product team to build and iterate on user-facing features using data analytics and machine learning to optimize results and drive conversion.
• Apply advanced statistical techniques to measure the efficacy of various products and suggest improvements.
• Lead and mentor a team of Data Scientists within the Search team, sharing experience and expertise.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions and data-driven insights.
• Develop and deploy machine learning models to improve the accuracy and relevance of search results.
• Work with cutting-edge GenAI tools and technology.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience performing data analysis.
• Master’s degree or PhD in statistics, math, physical sciences, computer science, or other STEM-related degrees.
• Proven experience leading and implementing data science initiatives on a product.
• Ability to mentor other data scientists.
• Expertise working with large, complex SQL and NoSQL database infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of statistics and common machine learning techniques.
• Strong perspective regarding data engineering and appropriate infrastructure.
• Understanding of the nuances and trade-offs of different types of experiment design.
