About the position
The Senior Data Strategy Product Manager (Federal) at Magellan Health Services is responsible for leading data warehouse initiatives with a product mindset. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to build a data-driven product suite that meets diverse user needs. The candidate will decode stakeholder requirements into Agile Epics, Features, and User Stories, ensuring that the development team delivers outputs that align with organizational goals. The position requires experience in cloud technologies and modern Business Intelligence platforms, as well as participation in project planning and scoping exercises.
Responsibilities
- Lead data warehouse initiatives with a product mindset.
- Package project outcomes to serve specific user communities.
- Build a data-driven product suite that meets the needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Decode stakeholder requirements into Agile Epics, Features, and User Stories.
- Work closely with data engineering and reporting development teams.
- Define user story acceptance criteria and ensure work output fits organizational needs.
- Participate in RFPs, project planning, and scoping exercises.
- Build strategic product roadmaps and specific project roadmaps.
- Partner with stakeholders to set expectations around delivery timelines.
- Act as a servant leader supporting the development team and organization.
- Define the vision and strategy for a portfolio of products.
- Manage demand, project escalation, and vendor relationships.
- Conduct business or client-facing presentations to showcase capabilities.
- Deliver upon commitments to the product roadmap.
- Identify efficiency opportunities in current state products.
- Understand and assess pricing and licensing models for SaaS and on-premise solutions.
- Forecast product obsolescence and migration strategies.
- Perform cross-organization collaboration to ensure product delivery and efficacy.
Requirements
- 7 years of product management experience.
- 4+ years of experience leading teams.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience working on project teams building data processes in cloud technologies (AWS Redshift preferred).
- Experience building reports in modern Business Intelligence platforms (Tableau preferred).
