About the position
The Senior Database Administrator at Computer Technologies Consultants, Inc. (CTC) plays a vital role in supporting and maintaining the infrastructure for mission-critical enterprise applications within the Intelligence Community. This full-time, on-site position in Annapolis Junction, MD, involves daily operations, troubleshooting, and infrastructure management, ensuring optimal performance and security of various database systems.
Responsibilities
- Monitor performance and resolve issues with databases and clients to keep critical IT systems running smoothly.
- Identify, diagnose, and fix Tier 1 and Tier 2 issues to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Manage multiple backend database systems, ensuring processes are optimized and systems are secure.
- Design and implement custom database queries and identify areas for performance and stability improvements.
- Coordinate and resolve critical escalation support issues to minimize disruptions.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and ten years of experience as a DBA, or fourteen years of experience as a DBA in lieu of a degree.
- DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I.
- Experience with database integrity, security, and availability management.
- Proficiency in administering and maintaining database policies and procedures.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Linux and Windows environments.
- Familiarity with various databases such as Oracle, SQL, PostGres, and MongoDB.
