About The Position

The Safeguards and Security Senior Director is responsible for the management and operation of the Y-12 National Security Complex Safeguards and Security Organization. The Safeguards and Security Senior Director will manage the implementation and integration of the comprehensive Safeguards and Security Program to include the Protective Force, Physical Security Systems, Information Security, Personnel Security, Nuclear Materials Control and Accountability, Vulnerability Assessments, Classification, and Program Management for the Y-12 plant. These programs must implement the requirements from all applicable DOE orders, Federal regulations, and other requirements as applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 15 years relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant supervisory management experience

  • Thorough knowledge of DOE Orders associated with the Safeguards and Security Program to include DOE O 473.2A, Protective Force; DOE O 473.1A, Physical Protection Program; DOE O 471.6, Information Security; DOE O 472.2A, Personnel Security; DOE O 472.2, Nuclear Material & Accountability; DOE O 470.4B, Safeguards & Security Program; and 470.4C, Design Basis Threat
  • Demonstrated success in both organizational and financial management
  • Experience working with labor contracts

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the Y-12 Safeguards and Security Program is properly designed, developed, and implemented to provide effective, efficient programs that are in compliance with standards, regulations, DOE Orders and management expectations
  • Managing strategic planning and the establishment of short- and long-range objectives for the Y-12 National Security Complex
  • Interfacing with the Y-12 Field Office (YFO), Headquarters, and other stakeholders to ensure customer expectations are being met
  • Manage an operation of a 24/7/365 security force to include all security topical areas as outlined in the DOE Orders
  • Executing the organizational budget consistent with the approved Annual Control Baseline and the Defense Nuclear Security (DNS) Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
