About the position

The M/E Engineer 3 at JE Dunn will engage in complex mechanical and electrical engineering tasks, focusing on construction activities within the Advanced Facilities Group. This role emphasizes data collection, estimation development, and systems analysis to support innovative projects in industrial and manufacturing sectors. The position is designed for growth, with a clear path towards becoming a Senior M/E Engineer, while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and diversity.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the company's safety and quality plans and culture.
  • Complete entry-level mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Develop budgetary M/E estimates using automated estimating systems.
  • Assist in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction.
  • Complete systems analysis for select projects.
  • Develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  • Assist in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
  • Develop sequencing requirements for various systems to meet schedule requirements.
  • Identify potential quality problems through design document review.
  • Perform job inspections to ensure specifications are met.
  • Assist with the shop drawing/submittal process to comply with contract documents.
  • Support the commissioning process with checklists and testing procedures.
  • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering in a construction environment.
  • Familiarity with automated M/E estimating systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and their applications in construction.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced construction projects such as data centers and semiconductor facilities.
  • Knowledge of value engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes and procedures.
