About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer - Substation at Mott MacDonald will provide subject matter expertise in substation design and management, collaborating with a team of engineers and designers. This role involves leading technical documentation preparation, ensuring compliance with design standards, mentoring junior engineers, and managing projects through design and construction phases. Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and management of technical documentation for substation projects.
• Produce thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and drawings.
• Plan, organize, schedule, coordinate, and monitor work activities with multi-discipline project team members.
• Review design work completed by peers to ensure compliance with scope and QA/QC requirements.
• Provide design activities in accordance with applicable codes and standards, policies, and procedures.
• Mentor and provide guidance to developing engineers within the department.
• Contribute to the continual development of internal engineering standards, tools, and work processes.
• Provide technical support and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
• Support business planning, development, and training.
• Manage projects through design and construction including RFI response, equipment submittal reviews, and coordination meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 8+ years of substation design experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and CDEGS/WinIGS.
