About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer - Substation at Mott MacDonald will provide subject matter expertise in substation design and management. This role involves leading technical documentation preparation, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. The position may offer remote work flexibility and is part of a dynamic team focused on delivering exceptional engineering services across various power delivery projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and management of technical documentation for substation projects.
• Produce thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and drawings.
• Plan, organize, schedule, coordinate, and monitor work activities with multi-discipline project team members.
• Review design work completed by peers to ensure compliance with scope and QA/QC requirements.
• Provide design activities in accordance with applicable codes and standards, policies, and procedures.
• Mentor and provide guidance to developing engineers within the department.
• Contribute to the continual development of internal engineering standards, tools, and work processes.
• Provide technical support and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
• Manage projects through design and construction, including RFI response, equipment submittal reviews, and coordination meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 8+ years of substation design experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and CDEGS/WinIGS.
