About the position

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Westminster, CO. This role involves direct interaction with customers and internal engineers to identify requirements, develop specifications, and implement electrical solutions. The engineer will be responsible for designing and reviewing electrical systems, conducting factory tests, and providing support during construction and commissioning phases. The position may also require project management responsibilities and oversight of a team of engineers.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers and engineers to identify requirements and develop specifications.
• Implement, test, and commission electrical solutions for systems at 480 VAC and below.
• Review and develop system specifications and drawing packages.
• Conduct factory tests as needed and provide support during construction and commissioning.
• Manage a team of engineers to meet project schedules and ensure quality output.
• Develop scope of work and cost estimates for deliverables.
• Project manage jobs of various sizes, ensuring all team members understand their responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, and PLC control panel specifications.
• Experience in designing electrical schematics for power distribution at 480VAC and below.
• Knowledge of NEC and associated national, state, and local code requirements, including hazardous area requirements.
• Familiarity with construction, installation, maintenance, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with PLC programming.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD.
