Haskell is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our healthcare group in Charlotte, NC. This role is pivotal in providing innovative healthcare solutions tailored to our clients' unique needs. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and coordination of electrical systems for various healthcare facilities, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of building systems, including power distribution, emergency systems, lighting design, and telecommunications, to deliver optimal outcomes for our clients. Your expertise will be crucial in managing project budgets, schedules, and client communications, while also supervising and mentoring junior team members. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in all project deliverables. In this role, you will apply your comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering principles to develop and document construction documents, specifications, and calculations that reflect code compliance. You will also engage in value engineering discussions with facility owners to present options that enhance project efficiency and effectiveness. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assigned project designs, coordination, client communications, and associated construction administration.
  • Supervise team members assigned to projects, ensuring staff utilization and overseeing the work performed by the assigned staff.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Apply knowledge of building systems and codes, including NFPA and UL standards, to ensure compliance in designs.
  • Design power distribution systems, emergency systems, and lighting systems, ensuring proper application and coordination.
  • Perform analysis of proposed systems and present Value Engineering options to facility owners.
  • Document calculations reflecting code compliance, including lighting, power load, and short circuit calculations.
  • Provide construction support, including problem-solving for field oversights and conducting field inspections.
  • Prepare design estimates for assigned projects and negotiate additional design fees when necessary.
  • Engage in professional development and maintain required licensing CEUs.

Requirements

  • Accredited electrical engineering degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience after obtaining PE licensure.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Revit experience preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with building requirements for special occupancies.
  • Knowledge of various control systems and fire alarm design.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications and security system design.
