About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer position at EXP involves providing senior-level electrical engineering design and leadership. The role requires overseeing and mentoring Designer-level staff, ensuring high-quality engineering practices, and managing multiple projects within budget and schedule constraints. The engineer will be responsible for developing design concepts, verifying work quality, and applying risk management practices while collaborating with various disciplines to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior level electrical engineering design.
• Lead, supervise, and mentor Designer level staff.
• Ensure proper application and execution of design concepts by Designers.
• Verify designer's work quality regarding specifications, reports, and code application.
• Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
• Perform front-end loading of Electrical systems for projects.
• Edit and develop basis of design narratives documenting project scope.
• Lead the design team to produce construction documents and specifications.
• Facilitate completion of project construction administration tasks including RFI and submittal review.
• Write studies and reports for Electrical systems on projects.
• Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5 years related experience in electrical engineering.
• Ability to lead discipline design to produce construction documents.
• Experience writing feasibility studies and reports for Electrical systems.
• Preparation of one-line diagrams and floor plans showing electrical device layouts.
• Respond to RFI's for transportation infrastructure projects.
• Perform calculations for lighting, electrical demand load, and voltage drop.
• Knowledge of building code requirements, NEC, IBC, NFPA, and applicable codes.
• Ability to coordinate with other disciplines and vendors.
