About The Position

The position involves leading and developing engineering teams to conduct studies, create plans, and provide recommendations related to the planning, design, and maintenance of Exelon's electric, gas, and telecommunication facilities. The role requires extensive engineering expertise and the ability to influence project decisions that significantly impact the company. The engineer will also participate in technical societies to enhance knowledge and promote a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer.
• 7+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Thorough knowledge and experience in unique areas of engineering expertise.
• Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Lead Member of a recognized industry committee or Professional Engineer's License.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced technical degree, MBA, or Project Management Certification.
• Graduate degree or graduate-level work in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management Certification.
• Working knowledge of analysis software packages such as CYMDIST, PSS\E, Python, PSCAD, MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Develops and leads teams in studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, and design documents.
• Provides consultation and recommendations to the company and other business units based on system studies.
• Reviews financial data from budget and actual costs of projects.
• Leads and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring extensive engineering expertise.
• Evaluates, develops, implements, and leads projects with significant financial and operational impact.
• Plans, writes, and performs tasks for documentation deliverables and projects.
• Participates in department planning, field/site walkdowns, and provides budget recommendations.
• Acts independently and may lead multi-discipline teams, including oversight of contractors.
• Provides recommendations to management to improve performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Offers detailed technical training, mentorship, and peer review to others.
