About the position

The Senior Director / Executive Director, Operational Strategy - Oncology (SDOS / EDOS) is responsible for developing effective Win Strategies for new business opportunities in oncology. This role ensures operational excellence by transitioning strategies into execution and keeping operational strategists informed about oncology research and treatment trends. The position requires extensive experience in clinical trial operations and strategy to support project oversight and budget reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and develop competitive Win Strategies for potential awards in oncology.
  • Serve as the lead oncology strategist for potential awards.
  • Co-lead bid defense preparations with Business Development and participate in client meetings.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients' key decision makers to drive repeat business.
  • Collaborate with global functions to enhance client relations and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Provide therapeutic and technical expertise during study transitions and governance.
  • Stay current on regulatory environments affecting oncology portfolios.
  • Train operational strategists and leadership on new operational methodologies in oncology.
  • Provide guidance on project planning, execution, and risk mitigation.
  • Support business development and marketing activities by participating in conferences and generating marketing content.

Requirements

  • Degree in a life science or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a CRO providing strategy and project oversight in oncology.
  • Proven track record in maintaining and developing customer relations.
  • Strong knowledge of oncology clinical trial design.
  • Ability to manage multiple project portfolios in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proven organizational, planning, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external clients.
  • Experience in developing project budgets aligned with Win Strategy.
