About the position

The Senior Facility Engineer at Momentive Technologies will play a crucial role in planning, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and equipment of buildings and facilities. This position is pivotal in managing ongoing and future expansion projects, ensuring that new facilities are set up efficiently and effectively. The Senior Facility Engineer will oversee daily activities of assigned projects, ensuring strict adherence to site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements, and will be responsible for providing regular updates on project status to all relevant team members and management. In this role, the Senior Facility Engineer will take ownership of the planning and execution of capital investment projects, extending their responsibility from individual project execution to managing groups of projects across designated plant areas. This includes mentoring, training, and guiding other site project leaders and support members. The engineer will be proficient in gathering and analyzing data, blueprints, and reports to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives concerning scope, schedule, budget, and cash flow. They will work rigorously to align daily activities with overall project priorities and will contribute innovative ideas to improve safety, promote efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance performance. The Senior Facility Engineer will also be responsible for developing facility and infrastructure standards across multiple sites and engaging with operational teams to ensure satisfaction of agreed objectives. This collaboration will involve gathering input on project objectives and leveraging opportunities based on historical challenges. Additionally, the engineer will support project-related programs to enhance the investment process across the site and will be expected to participate actively in their own professional development and personal effectiveness. Building and maintaining key supplier and contractor relationships will be essential for consistent and reliable project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for ongoing/future expansion projects infrastructure and facility layout
  • Overall leadership and ownership for planning and execution of capital investment projects
  • Managing groups of projects in designated plant areas through mentoring and training
  • Gathering and analyzing data, blueprints, and reports
  • Delivery of assigned project objectives for scope, schedule, budget, and cash flow
  • Ensuring daily activities align with overall project priorities
  • Complying with all site EHS and engineering standards
  • Development of facility and infrastructure standards across multiple sites
  • Engaging with operational teams to ensure satisfaction of agreed objectives
  • Supporting continuous improvement of the overall investment process
  • Developing and maintaining key supplier/contractor relationships for project execution

Requirements

  • Experience designing and creating facility layouts
  • Experience working with contractors
  • Experience in managing projects and building expansions
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD drawing systems
  • BS degree in engineering, preferably Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a manufacturing work environment
  • Strong leadership and motivation skills
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Proven organization and teamwork skills within a manufacturing environment

  • Previous experience in large-scale capital project execution (>$1MM)
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification
  • SAP experience or comparable ERP knowledge
  • 3D CAD Drawing Experience (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred)
